Entry from: Zernez, Switzerland Entry Title: "Day 3 - Hiking Munt la Schera / trip to Italy" Entry: "On day 3, we rode the bus to Buffalora, the starting point of our hike. Again, we first hiked through meadows towards Alp Buffalora, where we found a little hut and lots of cows. The trail continued through half meadowy, half rocky scenery, slowly meandering up towards Munt La Schera. It seemed to be a pretty popular hike, probably because it was pretty easy (about 4 hours long), and we met quite a few other hikers along the way. Most of them were (in our opinion) way overdressed -- hard shell mountaineering boots, softshell pants and jacket and gaiters seemed to be slightly overkill compared to our hiking shoes, shorts and t-shirt ;-) We had lunch at the top (bread, pesto, olives, apples and chocolate cookies) and took a nice long break before continuing back down into the valley. When we got to Punt la Drossa, the endpoint of the hike, which also happened to be right on the Italian border, it was still pretty early in the afternoon, so we decided to venture over to Livigno. Unfortunately, there were no buses going to Livigno for at least another hour, so we caught a bus to Glurns, a small "medieval" town in Italy that felt more like being in Austria.
